Sarah’s right! She tends to be. Beautiful ladies can, a lot of the time (though not always), be very intelligent, about these sorts of things especially.

For me, this year, Christmas has meant trying to re-understand my parents and enjoying their company as best I can (they’re still my parents, so sometimes it can be difficult). But it’s also been a time to discover some more about the relationship with my boyfriend. Like, how as I was buying his Christmas presents I realized they have been the easiest presents to find. I stressed for a while about them and I couldn’t think of anything. But when I started shopping the other day I was flooded with ideas and I was extremely successful in getting what I wanted. The only other person whose presents have been that easy to find is my best friend, Phoebe. 

Another thing I found was that we are both willing to sit with one another and sort out things until we get them evenly sorted. We don’t get mad and we don’t get frustrated. We may laugh nervously, or talk extremely fast, but we inevitably come up with something that works for the both of us, while keeping each other in mind the whole way through. It’s comforting. So now, when he comes to visit me on December 30th, and we go to San Francisco for New Year’s Eve, I can give him some awesome presents and we can have a fun time together while ringing in the new year.
